High School

Raymond Febus - HS Science/PE

I was born in South Korea and was adopted when I was 3 months old to an American family living near Portland, Oregon. I gave my life to Christ when I was a junior in high school and do my best to faithfully follow and serve Christ today. I went to the University of Washington, in Seattle, Washington and received my Bachelors of Science degree in Microbiology. After completing my undergraduate degree I began doing research at NOAA for 2 years, then switched to a bio-tech. company developing anti-cancer drug treatments. Finally I went to UCSF Orthopedic Surgery Department doing MRI research. I came to Korea and received my Masters in Developmental Genetics and have worked at a kindergarten teaching science, gym, and cooking before coming to ICSP.

Rebecca Gaul - HS Math

Miss Gaul is ICS-P's High School Math and Lead teacher. This is her sixth year at ICS-P and she teaches Geometry, Algebra 2, PreCalculus, and AP Calculus. She graduated from Asbury University in May 2014 with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education. She received her teaching certificate from the state of New Hampshire to teach Mathematics for grades 8th - 12th.

Amy Thornton - Mandarin Teacher

Mrs. Thornton graduated from Guangxi University of Nationality in 2007, with a degree in Teaching Chinese as Second Language. She is a Chinese native, born in Guangxi Province. This year is her second year teaching at ICSP, also her eighth year as a Mandarin teacher.

Ryan Kolbe - HS Social Studies

Mr. Kolbe graduated from Taylor University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Studies Education. He currently holds a teaching license from the State of Arizona. From August of 2005 to June of 2009, Mr. Kolbe taught at the International Academy of Suriname in Suriname, South America. He currently in his tenth year at ICS-Pyeongtaek.

Amy Engle - HS English

Ms. Engle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary English Education from Northern Arizona University in 2012, taught English, and directed a middle school drama club after-school program for 2 years. She has a first degree black belt in American Kenpo and has self-published 5 science fiction stories. In addition to being a teacher, she was a licensed massage therapist in the state of Arizona for 10 years.

Barry Wolfer - MS & HS Bible

Hailing from the temperate paradise known as Oregon, Mr. Wolfer feels right at home amidst the rice fields of Pyeongtaek. With a deep desire to learn the world around him, he also feels right at home studying the Bible alongside students. He desires to pursue God and truth and looks forward to continuing life's journey with the students at ICSP. Despite a lifetime of learning and studying, Mr. Wolfer has few things figured out, but rests contentedly in God's sovereign control.

Middle School

Jonathan Edwards - MS Math and Science Teacher

Jonathan Edwards graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors degree in Social Work and is currently working on his Masters degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. Jonathan has his certificate to teach in Oklahoma. Jonathan enjoys teaching middle school students as they grow in their independence and responsibility in order to succeed in high school.

Jon Greener - MS English and ELD Teacher

Jonathan Greener is the MS English and MS English Language Development (ELD) teacher at ICSP. Also, he is the head boys basketball coach & MS Physical Education teacher. This is his fifth year at ICSP and this year he has two young Conquerors at school with him-- Eva (G5) and Jonathan (G2). Mr. Greener has a Master's of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Seattle University & a Bachelor of Arts in English Language Arts from Washington State University. He has over 10 years of English teaching experience in Korea and this will be his 7th year teaching at an international school in KAIAC. Coach Greener is looking forward to a great year at ICSP in the classroom and on the court! GO CONQUERORS!!!

Michelle Hendrick - MS Bible and Social Studies Teacher

Miss Hendrick is originally from Florida near Orlando. She studied Secondary History Education at Toccoa Falls College in Georgia where she was able to study for a semester in Hong Kong. She taught English for a year in South Korea, taught high school social studies in Hawaii and Arizona and taught middle school social studies in Florida. She loves helping history come alive for students and is excited to be able to not only share her faith but teach her students more about God everyday.

Elementary

Tina Cho - Kindergarten

Tina Cho has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Faith Baptist Bible College and a master's degree in Effective teaching, learning, and leadership from Drake University in Iowa. This is her 16th year of teaching. Tina is also an author and enjoys creating a passion for learning in young children. Most of all, she loves teaching kids about God.

Makayla Lynn - First Grade

Miss Lynn is from northwest Tennessee and lived in northwest Georgia for most of her childhood. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelors in Education. She has always had a passion and amazement for culture and diversity. Befriending and hosting Korean exchange students in university gave her the desire to study and eventually move to a foreign country. She has a passion for multicultural education and sharing the love and grace of God.

Sarah Elser - Second Grade

Sarah Elser joins ICS-P this year with great excitement! She was born and raised in Montana, where she met her husband in 4th grade. As a military wife, Sarah has experienced many different cultures around the world and is thrilled to call Korea "home" for the time being. Until this year, Sarah's most important job was to shepherd her two children's hearts, now, she cannot wait to shepherd the hearts of her students'.

Debby Olsen - Third Grade

Miss Olsen grew up near Seattle, Washington in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Psychology, then went on to complete her K-8 Teacher Certification. She has taught for 5 years in Washington State public schools, 10 years in Florida private Christian schools, and 3 years in Korean public schools. Her favorite thing about teaching is the students.

Laura Johnson - Fourth Grade

I have a desire to help the future leaders of our world to love learning and to love people. I want to help all my students to succeed and to reach their goals. I feel that it is my obligation to teach my students to become independent thinkers and to be followers of truth.

Jessica Posthuma - Fifth Grade

Mrs. Posthuma grew up in Ontario Canada. She moved to Korea in 2010 and has enjoyed teaching and working with children of various ages. Her greatest passion is sharing the love of Jesus with her students and helping them to grow academically.

Specials

Laura Edwards - Student Support Coordinator

After graduating from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, Laura moved to Quetzaltenango, Guatemala to teach kindergarten at Inter-American School, where she taught from 2008-2012. During her time there, Laura met Jonathan Edwards, and the two were married in the summer of 2011. Jonathan and Laura then moved to South Korea to work at International Christian School Pyeongtaek. Laura served as the school's kindergarten teacher and elementary lead teacher from 2012-2015 and worked part-time as a reading tutor during the 2015-2016 school year. Laura took several years off to stay home and care for her two small children, and she is excited to get back into the classroom this year as the Student Support Coordinator.

Kevin Copeland - K-12 Music Teacher

Mr. Copeland been an avid musician since the 5th grade where I picked up the trumpet for band. I have enjoyed being a follower of Christ since an early age but was rebaptized January 7th, 2017 in Philippi, Greece. I look forward to the positive year the music program is going to have this year.

Meredith Kennedy - K-12 Art Teacher

Ms. Kennedy graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Judson University in 2015, has done post graduate work at Northern Illinois University in Art Education, and holds a teaching certificate from the state of Arizona. She teaches K-12 Art and Yearbook at ICS-P and loves all kinds of art, design, and photography. Before moving to Korea in 2018, Ms. Kennedy has called Chicago, Singapore, and Kentucky "home".

Ti Na Lee - Librarian

Mrs. Tina Lee grew up in Washington State and graduated from the University of Washington with her degree in General Asian Studies in 2004. After getting married, she went back to school to get her masters in Education and TESOL and graduated in 2012. She likes to read biographies and about history.

Young Song - PE Teacher/Athletic Director

Mr. Song (Coach Song) was born in South Korea and moved to the US during 2nd grade. He grew up in Massachusetts and attended Boston University, where he received a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and a Master's in Education at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst). Coach Song has over 12 years of teaching experience at various schools and has coached a wide range of sports. He is married with 3 children (Simon, Faith, and Lily). This will be Mr. Song's second year at ICS-P and he is looking forward to a wonderful, blessed school year.

Paul Gary - IT Director and Computer/Technology Integration Teacher

Mr. Paul Gary grew up in Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Design Communication from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. He has taught art for 6 years in Korea, and 7 years in Thailand. He loves to play guitar and sing worship songs. He has tremendously enjoyed being the IT Director this past year, and is excited to serve in that role again this year.

Rebekah Gary - Student Support Service Aide

I have been teaching in Asia for 10 years and I have lived in Asia for 20 years. I have lived in South Korea, Singapore and Thailand. My experience includes elementary to high school both in academic courses as well as ELD. I have my BA in Political Science and a Degree in TESOL from SPU.

Hyerim Shin - Teacher's Aide

I was born and grew up in Korea. I met my husband in Korea and started military journey with him. I studied performance of the Piano and have taught the piano in Savannah,GA , Guantanamo Bay,Cuba and Oak Harbor,WA and worked for an piano accompanist at church and student ensemble festival as well. I am grateful to be part of ICSP family. I enjoy everyday to watch children's growth physically and spiritually.
